Beth's New 1967 FAN Travel Trailer

I am sitting here in my friend, Beth’s brand new (to her), 1967 FAN Travel Trailer.  What a perfect cocktail hour, with the rain gently tapping on the roof, and that magnificent mountain vista in the distance.

Here are a few pictures of her trailer in “as found” condition.

Beth has been scouring the internet for months looking for the perfect trailer, and researching sites like “Pinterest”, to figure out her decorating scheme.

I spent a few hours with Beth last night, seeing all of her ideas, fabrics, colors, etc.  It was so exciting!  Her trailer is going to be decorated like a beach cottage, and the outside will make you feel that you are at the beach, stretching out on your beach chair, sipping a martini!!

Here is an incredible idea that Beth found on pinterest.  She has always been into mixing exotic drinks and cooking incredible meals while camping, and her new trailer loans itself perfectly  to making this “outside bar” a reality!

I wish I could take credit for encouraging Beth’s desire to own her own trailer; but my interest only served as the seed that made her interest grow.  She has been a tent-trailer owner for years, and her husband always did the towing.

I plan to support her with trailering lessons, as she begins towing her own. Her plan is to start camping next season, and we will be caravanning to campgrounds, glamping events, and next year we will be sponsoring a "Girl's Campout" and antiquing weekend.

Stay tuned for more information!  Remember, you can do it, if the  interest is there!

Will People Be Interested In My Blog?

Well, here goes:  I am putting myself out there, and open for suggestions, jest, ridicule, and, mostly, encouragement.

1.  Are you interested in hearing about, and seeing pictures of my travels?

2. If you own a trailer, or if you yearn to own one, would you be interested in decorating ideas?

3. Do you need some encouragement on doing things yourself, like backing up a trailer, fixing and building things, etc?

The Tow Vehicle of My Dreams!!

It finally happened!  Just before Christmas, I purchased the tow vehicle of my dreams. Years ago, I decided the perfect car for me to pull my Airstream Trailers, was a 1956 Ford Parklane Station Wagon.
I have had these two pictures in my files for years, and
decided, way back when, that either color would be okay.

Well, here it is!

This was probably the only one of these I could ever afford.  The owner had put a new engine and transmission in it, but they weren't hooked up!!  My mechanics have worked on it for two months, and it is finally running.

My first test drive was last week.  It has been many years since I drove a car without power steering, and with such a HUGE steering wheel.  In this picture the "suicide knob" is still on the wheel.  Remember what it was for?  With a "suicide knob", you could steer the car with one hand, while your other arm was around your honey!

Next blog, I will hopefully figure out how to post a video, so you can hear my siren!
